Junior Faculty position in Structural Biochemistry
The Department of Chemistry and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at The Pennsylvania State University seek outstanding applicants for a junior faculty position in Structural Biochemistry with an emphasis on X-ray crystallography and related methods.
Candidates whose publication records demonstrate strong research productivity and whose interests complement those of existing faculty will be preferred. Successful applicants will also evidence the capacity to be excellent teachers at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Department of Chemistry has a stable pool of highly motivated graduate students (45-50/year for ~ 35 faculty), excellent support staff, comprehensive mass spectral and NMR capabilities, and a 177K sq-ft chemistry research building on the University Park campus. The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology has more than 50 faculty members working to advance our fundamental understanding of molecules, cells, and organisms, with research interests spanning the behavior of single molecules to the behavior of individuals.
