Summer Internships
The Summer Internship Program provides new students with an opportunity to begin their graduate research at Penn State in the summer, free from the distractions of course work or teaching. These internships are arranged by consent of individual faculty and students. While there is no obligation to continue the student/mentor relationship at the end of the summer, students who remain with the same research group benefit most from the program, because it accelerates their progress toward the Ph.D. The stipend is equivalent to a twelve-week graduate research assistantship. Funding for the program is provided by individual faculty research grants and a special grant from the Eberly College of Science. Interested students should contact faculty directly (see research descriptions on individual faculty web pages).
